In the uploaded YouTube video below, Apple TV+ has released the premiere date for the upcoming sci-fi series Pluribus, created by Emmy Award-winning Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul). Starring Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul, Cooper’s Bar), the series is set for a premiere date of November 7, with new episodes every Friday until December 26, according to Deadline.
According to Deadline, the premise of the series is that the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness. The video clip above shows how the “most miserable person on Earth” might behave, with Seehorn’s character licking donuts before returning them to the box, where anyone else might take a soiled donut. The series will also star Karolina Wydra (House, True Blood) and Carlos-Manuel Vesga (A Ton of Luck, The Hijacking of Flight 601), with guest stars Miriam Shor (Swingtown, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory).
Gilligan teased a bit of Seehorn’s character back in February, giving audiences a small idea of the character she plays, Deadline notes. “I’m excited for audiences to see Rhea play a very different character than the character she played on Better Call Saul,” said Gilligan, “She [Seehorn] plays someone who’s trying very hard to be good. She’s a bit of a damaged hero, but she’s a hero nonetheless. And it’s just a pleasure to work with her because she’s just the best, and she is so sweet and kind and talented. I can’t say enough good about her.”
Deadline writes that Pluribus is produced by Sony Pictures television. It will be executively produced by Gilligan, in addition to Gordon Smith (Better Call Saul, Outsiders), Alison Tatlock (Better Call Saul, Stranger Things), Diane Mercer (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), Allyce Ozarski (Super Pumped, The L Word), and Jeff Frost, with Jenn Carroll (Better Call Saul, El Camino) and Trina Siopy (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) serving as co-executive producers.
