Created by Simon Kingberg (A Haunting in Venice) and David Weil (Solo), Invasion is a series in which Earth is visited by alien species that do not come in peace. The series follows the real-time stories of five different individuals across the globe as they struggle to survive the chaos. The different perspectives bring the story into an action-packed series. The series started in 2021 on the streamer with their second season premiering in 2023.
The series cast includes Golshifteh Farahani (About Elly), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2), Shamier Anderson (John Wick: Chapter 4), Billy Barratt (Mary Poppins Returns), Azhy Robertson (Marriage Story), India Brown (Worzel Gummidge), Paddy Holland (Lockwood & Co), Enver Gjokaj (Resident Alien), Nedra Marie Taylor (Orange Is the New Black), Naian González Norvind (Pena Ajena), newcomer Tara Moayedi, and many others.
According to Comicbook, Kinberg had stated, “I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to do with our first two seasons of the show with our partners at Apple TV+ and our cast and crew. This new season will continue to build on the scale, stakes, and propulsion of the Invasion, while keeping our characters front and center, bringing them together in ways that will hopefully surprise and most importantly move our audience, who have been so incredibly supportive and inspiring since day one.”
Kinberg and Weil also serve as executive producers for the series alongside Audrey Chon (Oldboy), David Witz (Gone Girl), Alik Sakharov (The Witcher), Andrew Baldwin (The Outsider), Dan Dietz (Person of Interest), Katie O’Connell Marsh (F Is for Family) and Nick Nantell (Journey to the Center of the Earth).
All seasons of Invasion are available to stream on Apple TV+.
