

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Apple TV+ has renewed the science fiction series Foundation, based on stories by Isaac Asimov (The Last Question, The End of Eternity), for a fourth season. The series is being renewed by the streamer ahead of the third season finale.
“There is no series quite like Foundation, and we feel lucky and honored to be carrying the torch forward as co-showrunners into season four,” co-showrunners and executive producers Ian Goldberg (Eli, The Nun II) and David Kob (Krypton, The Flash) said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter. “We look forward to continuing the epic, emotional storytelling that defined the first three seasons of the show, and to be working alongside some of the most talented, passionate creative partners in the business.”
Via The Hollywood Reporter Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+ added, “It’s been fantastic to watch Foundation become such a global phenomenon, with fans tuning in from every corner of the world. With each new season, the excitement around this trailblazing sci-fi epic just keeps building due to the bold storytelling and collective artistry of this extraordinarily talented cast and creative team. We’re excited to keep exploring this universe together in season four.”
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Foundation is an epic tale of the future Galactic Empire’s collapse and humanity’s struggle to shorten the ensuing a 30,000-year dark age using psychohistory, a science that predicts future societal trends.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast of the series includes Jared Harris (The Terror, Mad Men), Lee Pace (After This Death, Bodies Bodies Bodies), Lou Llobell, Laura Birn (The Pilgrim, Voyagers), Cassian Bilton (House of Guinness, A Battle in Waterloo), Terrence Mann (The Dresden, A Chorus Line) and Rowena King (Wide Sargasso Sea, Proof of Life). New cast members that joined in the third season include Cherry Jones (Five Days at Memorial, The Handmaid’s Tale), Brandon P. Bell (Dear White People, Hollywood Heights), Synnøve Karlsen (The Midwhich Cuckoos, Last Night in Soho), Cody Fern (American Horror Story, Father Stu), Tómas Lemarquis (Touch Me Not, Driving Mum), Alexander Siddig (Skylines, Hannibal), Troy Kotsur (Wild Prairie Rose, In Cold Light) and Pilou Asbæk (Ghost in the Shell, Run Sweetheart Run).
Foundation is available to stream on Apple TV+.
