

According to The Hollywood Reporter, an Apple TV+ limited series that has been more than two years in the making will finally hit screens on September 26th of this year. The Savant, a thriller inspired by a 2019 Cosmopolitan story, follows an undercover investigator played by Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Scenes From A Marriage). The show’s logline states that Chastain’s character “infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act,”.
The Hollywood Reporters reports that joining Chastain in the cast will be former All-Pro NFL Defensive Back Nnamdi Asomugha (When The Street Lights Go On, The Good Nurse), Cole Doman (Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party, Gossip Girl), Jordana Spiro (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Ozark), Trinity Lee Shirley (Way Of The Warrior Kid, Da Bottomz), Toussaint Francois Battiste in her debut role, and Pablo Schreiber (13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi, Halo) in a guest starring role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the long-awaited series was ordered by Apple TV+ from Fifth Season in March 2023. Since then, Chastain has also agreed to star alongside Adam Driver in a series titled The Dealer.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Chastain’s Freckle Film’s will also be involved as a production company. Kelly Carmichael (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Mother’s Instinct), will be executive producing, along with Melissa James Gibson (Anatomy of a Scandal, The Americans). Also taking on an executive producing role will be Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, Tales Of The City), director Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land, The Boy From Medellin) and Anonymous Content’s David Levine (Nickel Boys, Last Take: Rust And The Story Of Halyna) and Garrett Kemble (12 12 12, Mommy’s Home). Andrea Stanley, the journalist who wrote the source material, will serve as a consultant on the series.
