

American Screenwriter Mark Protosevich, who is also known for his work on I Am Legend (2007) and Thor (2011) has just finished a successful first season of his show on Apple TV+ “Sugar”. The contemporary series focuses on the genre of motion pictures and television history, in addition to private detectives, the secrecy of government agents, and numerous exciting action scenes. According to Deadline, season two will be showrun by Sam Caitlin (The Interview and White Oleander), along with Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg as the executive producers.
Season two plans to bring new faces and new energy. Fans can look forward to seeing Shea Whigham (Mission: Impossible), actress Sasha Calle (Young Blood), Raymond Lee (VHYes), Jin Ha (Pachinko), Laura Donnelly (Merlin), and Tony Dalton from Sultans of the South. Most notably, Whigham has flawlessly taken on several projects at once, demonstrating his wide range and talent. His recent role in Netflix’ limited series American Primeval follows his reprising role as Jasper in Mission: Impossible, while simultaneously making an appearance in Netflix’s Death by Lightning, and joining the cast behind Paramount+ documentary series Unspeakable, which will dive into the details of the JonBenet Ramsey case which has been almost virtually unsolved for decades.
Actress Sasha Calle, who is also known for her work in The Flash movie as Supergirl, plans her upcoming projects following her casting in Sugar as well. Joining actor Jacob Elordi in a Sony picture classic On Swift Horses. Raymond Lee, who will be joining the Sugar cast as well, has been seen in several fan favorite flicks such as Top Gun: Maverick, as well as NBC’s series Quantum Leap.
Following an article by Screenrant, it discusses the upcoming exciting details which may be in store for season two. Since the neo-noir series recently began casting in March 2025, fans of the show can hopefully look forward to the premiere sometime in 2026.
