WarnerMedia has ordered the romantic comedy series Love Life, according to Variety. Anna Kendrick will star in the first season and Paul Feig will executive produce. FeigCo Entertainment and Lionsgate Television will produce. The anthology series, created and directed by Sam Boyd (Stan Against Evil), follows protagonist’s “journey from first love to last love,” and is about “how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever,” according to the show’s official synopsis. This show will be “one of the first series on WarnerMedia’s new streaming service.”
This will be Kendrick‘s first starring role in TV series. She will play the same character during the whole first season and each 30-minute episode will focus on a different chapter of the protagonist’s love history, IndieWire reports. Kendrick will also serve as an executive producer of the show. She has also played in Twilight, Pitch Perfect, Into the woods, Trolls, Up in the Air, and The Accountant. She is also starring in the Christmas-themed film Noelle, which is written and directed by Marc Lawrence and will premiere later this year on Disney+.
Feig has also directed Kendrick in A Simple Favor, her latest on-screen role. His television credits include Freaks & Geeks, Arrested Development, and The Office. Feig will be the executive producer on the upcoming series Love Life together with Jessie Henderson.
WarnerMedia’s unnamed streaming service is set to debut in early 2020 and will include a prequel to the Gremlins and popular library shows such as Friends and The Big Bang Theory. It still does not have a premiere date for the 10-episode comedy anthology series, even though it is expected to launch it in 2020.
