HBO Max and Cartoon Network are teaming up to produce the animated preschool show Batwheels, as The Hollywood Reporter reports. The show follows the most iconic DC comics’ vehicles as they work to protect Gotham City with Batman, Robin, and Batgirl alongside several other characters from the DC Universe.
While both HBO Max and Cartoon Network will share the show, it hasn’t been revealed whether it will premiere simultaneously on the streamer and the cable network or not. President of Warner Bros. Animation Sam Register (Teen Titans, Beware the Batman) will executive produce with Michael G. Stern (Doc Mcstuffins) serving as a co-executive producer.
In a statement, Register revealed his excitement for this upcoming project, “From Batman: The Animated Series to Teen Titans Go!, superhero storytelling has definitely been one of our superpowers here at Warner Bros. Animation. We are so excited to bring that expertise over to the preschool space and take something that all kids love, cool vehicles, and give it a turbo boost with Batman!” via The Hollywood Reporter.
Batwheels showcases WarnerMedia’s most recent efforts to work with the newly launched streamer. Even further, the project adds to the list of DC shows already available on HBO Max.
