MTV’s 24-hour college network mtvU will kick off September 10 with Andy Samberb, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Patton Oswalt leading the fall programming slate, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
Samberg will deliver what the network is calling mtvU’s 2013 Convocation Address. Outside of his work with the new channel, Samberg is preparing for the September 17 debut of Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Over the course of the month, the network will show returns of several mtvU series, including interview show ASK premiering September 3. Opening the show will be a chat with Joseph-Gordon Levitt. Quinnterviews will premiere September 10 and begin with Patton Oswalt, Amy Sedaris and the cast of comedy The Heart, She Holler, Campus Dispatch; Occupational Therapy, which centers on post-graduation plans; Pop Quiz, which features stars reminiscing about college; and College Radio Countdown.
The network reaches nearly nine million students and is broadcasted on more than 750 college campuses and through cable distributors in 700 college communities. The focus is on aspects of college life, student life and social change.
