After years of fan speculation and countless rumors, one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s longest-absent stars has finally provided a definitive update regarding a possible return to the franchise in Daredevil: Born Again’s third season. According to Screenrant, the star in question would be Jessica Henwick (Love and Monsters, Silo), who played Colleen Wing, a skilled martial artist in Iron Fist, and worked alongside Danny Rand, played by Finn Jones (Awake, The Vistor).
Henwick spoke in an interview with Screenrant, about the potential of her character’s return,” She has the Iron Fist. She’s got Misty by her side. Daughters of the Dragon is happening. She ended on a really great note. I’m just not interested in bringing her back unless it’s worth sort of unpicking that happiness, because obviously she can’t be happy on a TV series. If she’s back, something’s gone wrong. The Daredevil team were like, “Yeah, we don’t want to bring you back, and then you just stood in the back of the shot.” So, hopefully soon, but I don’t really know.
Stated by Screenrant, with the current path that the third season will be following with bringing familar faces that haven’t been seen in long time, such as the unexpected return of Elektra, played by Élodie Yung (Gods of Egypt, The Hitman’s Bodyguard), who has been scened teaming up with Matt, played by Charlie Cox (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Echo). The plot of the third season remains under lock and key, but will start with The Defenders be the temporary peacekeeper, while Matt is in jail
While Colleen’s eventual return to the franchise remains unconfirmed, this latest update offers fans a tangible sense of hope that her story isn’t over yet, leaving the door open for a future appearance. The third season at the moment does not have a direct release date, but while waiting audience can rewatch the first and second seasons of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+.
