‘American Horror Story’ Will Have a ‘Murder House’ and ‘Coven’ Crossover Season

Seasons of American Horror Story are finally going to start colliding.

According to Entertainment Weekly, it was revealed that there will eventually be a season of the series that is a crossover between season one’s Murder House and season three’s Coven.

At EW’s PopFest Sunday, moderator Tim Stack asked co-creator Ryan Murphy about the possibility of revisiting Coven and what that would entail for the series.

“We do know what we’re going to do,” said Murphy. “It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre. There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together.”

Murphy emphasized that this crossover would not happen for the show’s seventh season due to scheduling, though it also leaves room for former AHS cast members like Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott to return.

“I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in,” said Murphy. “So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird.”

American Horror Story‘s first season centered on the Harmon family as they discover their new Los Angeles mansion is haunted. Season three’s Coven focused on New Orleans witches.

The series was recently picked up for seventh season, which Murphy called his “secret season.” At the time of the pick up, Murphy discussed their approach to season seven and what will make it stand apart from previous seasons.

“I don’t know when it will [air] but it’s also an experiment. It’s a different way of doing it,” said Murphy. “It’s one person writing all episodes. I don’t know if it’s going to work but it’s like, well, let’s try that.”

American Horror Story‘s current season, Roanoke, is currently airing on FX on Wednesdays at 10 pm.
