America Ferrera Set to Return to TV

America Ferrera landed the leading role in a new drama that will air on CBS.

Indiewire reports that the actress has gotten her first leading role since Ugle Betty in the new CBS show Damascus. This time she will play a nun who attends law school and uses her studies and knowledge to help the less fortunate.

Besides headlining the show, Ferrera will also executive produce, along with Nick Osborne and Teri Weinberg; the latter was also on Ugly Betty‘s executive production team.

The show will most likely air in the fall of 2014; until then, Ferrera can be seen guest-starring on The Good Wife as Nicola Torres.
