AMC begins filming its final installment of its global phenomenon The Walking Dead, according to ComicBook. Due to COVID 19, the series filming was pushed back from the original plans to start production last spring. Now, fans of the Walking Dead can breathe easy knowing their favorite zombie apocalypse survivors will be returning with fresh content for the hoards of hungry audience. With several extensions taking place over a seven-month period and season ten being cut into three pieces, The Walking Dead now has taken the required precautions for COVID-19 and will deliver 24 episodes for its last season.
Walking Dead writer Kevin Deiboldt took to social media to announce their excitement on starting production for season 11. “Kudos to our crew and cast (asskickers, the lot of ‘em!) on the long-awaited start of filming for S11,” writer-producer Kevin Deiboldt tweeted on Monday. “A full (effed up) year in the works, we truly hope it’s worth the wait,” Deiboldt posted in the tweet below.

The chief content officer for AMC Networks and The Walking Dead Scott Gimple also made some announcements regarding his feelings towards the series history. “What’s clear is that this show has been about the living, made by a passionate cast, team of writer/producers, producers, and crew, bringing to life the vision put forth by Robert Kirkman in his brilliant comic — and supported by the best fans in the world,” Gimple stated according to ComicBook.
As the final part of season ten gets ready to launch on February 28, Gimple also comments on the current season’s last six episodes that will be airing in the next couple weeks. After the group of antagonists known as The Whisperers dealt a destructive blow to the main characters, these last six episodes will center on how they recover with past events creating turmoil and what they need to do in order to save their humanity along with their lives. Stay tuned for more information on the walking dead and catch the season 10C premiere on February 28 and a week earlier for AMC+ subscribers on February 21.
