According to Deadline, Ben Feldman (Superstore) will join the second season of the AMC series Mayfair Witches. He will be a series regular as he takes on the role of San Larkin, a successful CEO of a genetics startup. Larkin is also Rowan’s former boyfriend who has reentered her life after some time.
Mayfair Witches is based on the late Anne Rice’s (The Vampire Lestat) novel series that follows the story of neurosurgeon Rowan Fielding played by Alexandra Daddario (Texas Chainsaw), who is the heir to a family of witches. The series is part of Rice’s Immortal Universe along with Interview with the Vampire.
According to TVLine, AMC plans to add another series to the Immortal Universe that will be written and executive-produced by Oscar-nominee John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side).
Feldman will be joining the cast of the series which includes Jack Huston (Kill Your Darlings) as Lasher, Tongayi Chirisa (American Horror Story) as Ciprien Grieve, Harry Hamlin (Clash of the Titans) as Cortland Mayfair, and Alyssa Jirrels (Fatal Attraction) as Moira Mayfair.
The series is executive produced by Mark Johnson (Rain Man), showrunner Esta Spalding (Falling Angels), Michelle Ashford (Operation Mincemeat), Tom Williams (The Great Outdoors), and Christopher Rice (Upstairs Inferno).
According to TVLine, the series’ second season, will follow Rice’s second book with some changes. Spalding spoke about the second season’s plot and said, “In the book, Rowan is riding beside Lasher, and he’s the one driving the story. We need to make a show which is about Rowan. There are so many extraordinary parts of that book, and we’re going to honor them, but we’re also going to make Rowan an active part of that story, not just someone who’s beside him having it happen to her.”
As of now, there is still no premiere window for the second season but it is scheduled to air later this year.
