AMC Reveals Trailer and Premiere Date for ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7

There’s a lot of news coming out of Comic-Con concerning The Walking Dead on AMC.

At The Walking Dead‘s panel on Friday, AMC premiered the first official trailer for season 7. Most of the footage in the trailer is old so as to preserve the mystery of who meets their end at Negan’s hands. But the new material from the upcoming season shows we will be seeing much more of Negan and the Saviors, and we will be introduced to King Ezekiel his pet tiger Shiva. Check out the brand new trailer below.

As the trailer suggests, we can expect to see a lot of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) since he, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, and Xander Berkeley were recently promoted to season 7 regulars.

And while the trailer shows some new footage from season 7, the biggest question on fans minds has yet to be answered. Whom does Negan kill?

Reports are that only the writer and showrunners know since death scenes were filmed for every one of Negan’s potential victims. The season 6 finale ended with Negan potentially killing one of the survivors, but we have no idea whom it may have been. In the last few moments of the finale, the The Walking Dead recreated a famous scene from the comics which shows our heroes lined up in front of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The sadistic leader of the Saviors plays an evil game of eeny meeny miny mo, pointing his barbed-wire covered baseball bat named “Lucille” at the Survivors to decide whom to kill. As Negan goes to deliver what could very well be a death blow, the perspective shifts to first person, meaning we don’t know whom was chosen. You see Lucille crack down on someone’s head, their ears start ringing, and blood drips down the screen before it cuts to black. But the audio keeps going and you hear the other survivors screaming.

The second bit of exciting news from The Walking Dead‘s panel is a premiere date for season 7. As usual, the 16-episode season with be split into two parts with the first half of the season premiering on October 23 and the second half in February 2017. AMC has also announced that Talking Dead hosted by Chris Hardwick will also resume October 23 following the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead.
