AMC+ fantasy series Sanctuary A Witch’s Tale has debuted its official trailer for season two. The series is based on the novel written by V.V. James (Sanctuary, Sanctuary: Roman) under the same name. The series follows a modern English town where witches and humans live together, until an incident sparks a witch hunt against a resident witch and her daughter.
According to Collider, the second season of the show will pick up where the last season left off. The characters Sarah Fern played by Elaine Cassidy (Salvable, The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die) and Harper Fern played by Hazel Doupe (Say Nothing, Kathleen Is Here), are exonerated for their misuse of magic and were almost hanged for it, yet word has spread about the incident and there are now anti-witch protests spreading all over the U.K. and placing a danger on the existence of magic.
Collider, mentions, that the character Harper is said to go down a darker path in this new season. The trailer showed the young magic user conjuring a spell while her mother, Sarah is worried about what she has done. In the last season of the series it was hinted at that she could use her abilities in many questionable ways with a sense of ill-intent.
According to IMDb, the cast consists of Elish Liburd (Everything Now, Ace Of Diamonds) who plays Izzy Paterson, Stephanie Levi-John (The Hack, Ellis) who plays DCI Maggie Knight, Amy De Bhrún (Showkids, Borderline) who plays Abigail Whithall, Valerie O’Connor (Hidden Assests, Video Nasty) who plays Bridget Paterson, Kelly Campbell (Leonard And Hungry Paul, The Boy That Never Was) who plays Julia Garston, Stephen Lord (Vera, Domina) who plays Ted Bolt, Adam Isla O’Brien (Moonhaven, Pulp By Rind) who plays Ryan Greenhoff, and Daniel Adegboyega (Grace, Tom & Jerry) who plays Pierre Martineau.
The series is set to premiere on December 25, 2025.
