AMC released a season two trailer for its hit TV show Mayfair Witches. As reported by Comicbook.com, AMC first released the trailer at the San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend.
The trailer can be found on the AMC+ official YouTube channel, which has over 50,000 views.
Mayfair Witches is a drama based on Ann Rice’s (Interview With the Vampire) novel Lives of the Mayfair Witches about female empowerment and the consequences of our decisions.
Mark Johnson (Chronicles of Narnia), the executive producer of Mayfair Witches, claims that the drama adaptation deviates a lot from the original storyline of the novel.
“I assumed that going into this that it truly was a franchise and that the immortal universe and the Ann Rice world was somehow more connected. But in a strange way, with the shows that we are making and developing, they aren’t directly connected… I did the three Chronicles of Narnia and it was very easy to figure out the different characters you could interlace. That’s not the case here. I think that actually speaks to the strength of Anne’s writing and her creation,” Johnson said according to Comicbook.com.
Mayfair Witches tells the story of Rowan Fielding, played by Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters). Fielding is a former neurosurgeon who discovers she has magic powers because she comes from a long line of witches. According to bloody-disgusting.com, as Fielding attempts to understand her family lineage and magical powers better, she must confront an ominous force that has troubled her ancestors for generations.
In addition, the trailer also hints to viewers of a crossover with Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire. There is no official date as to the second season premiere of Mayfair Witches, however, the trailer did confirm that the second season will be released sometime in 2025.
