Amazon’s ‘The Boys’ Spinoff Series Casts Lizze Broadway

Following the success of the Amazon original The Boys, the streaming service is set to produce and premiere a spinoff series within the same superhero world. Amazon Prime Video has announced that actress Lizze Broadway (The Rookie) will be cast in the untitled spinoff as the young superhero Emma, according to Deadline. Currently, it is unknown the capacity of Emma and her superhero powers and nature. However, this is some of the first news regarding the spinoff series since it was announced in late summer 2020 during the airing of The Boys season two.

The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes aiming to take down the corrupt and evil superhero corporation, Vought. Designed as what if these famous superheroes existed in everyday life, the Amazon series exploits this notion and portrays these superheroes as narcissistic and evil individuals. The series cast includes the likes of Antony Starr (Banshee), Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games), Erin Moriarity (True Detective), Laz Alonso (Avatar), Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad), Tomer Capon (Fauda), Karl Urban (Dredd), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) and many others. Despite this cast of the parent show, it is unknown whether or not any of these individuals or their characters are set to appear in the upcoming spinoff program.

This news revolving around the casting of Broadway in the spinoff series follows the reveal that The Boys has begun their filming and production process for its third season in February. The casting of Broadway is some of the first news to come of the spinoff as it is currently unknown when it is set to begin production and air on Prime Video.
