Prime Video has released a trailer for the upcoming ‘70s era miniseries Daisy Jones & The Six. Via The Hollywood Reporter, the series is based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, known for her other books The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and One True Loves, and chronicles the rise and fall of a renowned rock band in the 1970s fronted by Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne. Despite achieving superstardom and success, the band unexpectedly breaks up, only sharing what caused them to implode decades later.
The trailer features a first listen at the song, “Regret Me,” one of the twenty four original songs that were written exclusively for the adaptation and recorded by the cast. Jones and Dunne will be portrayed by Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road, American Honey) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Me Before You), respectively. Other cast members include Camila Morrone (Death Wish, Never Goin’ Back), Will Harrison (Venefica, This Is A Film About My Mother), Suki Waterhouse (Seance, Assassination Nation), Josh Whitehouse (The Knight Before Christmas, Poldark), Sebastian Chacon (Emergency, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels), Nabiyah Be (Black Panther, White Wedding), Tom Wright (Marked For Death, Barbershop), and special guest star Timothy Olyphant (Justified, A Perfect Getaway).
Academy Award nominees Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who worked together on The Disaster Artist and 500 Days of Summer, serve as the creators of the show. Neustadter and Will Graham (Movie 43, A League of Their Own) will co-showrun the series. Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Walk The Line) will executive produce under her media company Hello Sunshine, alongside Emmy nominee Lauren Neustadter (Big Little Lies, Where The Crawdads Sing) and Brad Mendelsohn (Rim of the World, Masters of Science Fiction). Jenkins Reid will also produce the show.
Daisy Jones & The Six will premiere on March 3rd, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The official teaser is available below.
