Amazon In Talks For Bryan Cranston’s ‘Sneaky Pete’

Amazon is in negotiations to pick up the drama Sneaky Pete pilot.

Sneaky Pete was written and executive produced by Bryan Cranston and David Shore. Amazon is in talks to bring the pilot, originally developed by CBS, to its own platform. Depending on account viewing data and customer feedback Amazon’s streaming service, Amazon Prime Instant Video, would make a decision on a series order. The deal has not yet been finalized, according to Variety

Sneaky Pete is about a thirtysomething con man, played by Giovanni Ribisi, who leaves prison and takes the identity of his cellmate to hide from his past. He hides out from debtors while also working for his new fake family’s bail bond business. The cast also includes Margo Martindale, Marin Ireland, Libe Barer, Peter Gerety and Shane McRae.

Sneaky Pete was one of the biggest sales of the broadcast development season where it landed at CBS with a production commitment. CBS passed on the pilot and the Sony TV produced project began looking at cable networks, according to Deadline

Seth Lewis Gordon directed the pilot and joins Cranston, Shore and James Degus of Cranston’s Moon Shot Entertainment banner as executive producers. Shore is also the showrunner, according to Variety.

Amazon is currently doing business with Sony TV, producing the pilot from the drama The Good Girls Revolt. If Sneaky Pete was resurrected at Amazon it would join Sony TV’s Community that was resurrected last year by Yahoo after it left NBC, according to Deadline
