The actor best-known for playing the villainous Billy Clyde Tuggle in on ABC’s soap opera.
Matthew Cowles known for the role on All My Children, died at 69, as his manager Tsu Tsu Stanton confirmed. “He was a very gifted and kind man who loved life and everyone,” Stanton said on Twitter.
Cowles began his journey with All My Children in 1977 as noted by Deadline. The actor earned two Daytime Emmy nominations for hit role on the long-running soap opera and also appeared in the web-only version of the series when it debuted in 2013. Cowles also appeared on CBS soap titled The bold and the Beautiful for one season.
The actor made his film debut in Me, Natalie (1969) with Patty Duke and Al Pacino. He also acted in The Happy Hooker, Slap Shot, The World According to Garp, The Money Pit, Brenda Starr, The Juror, Nurse Betty, City By The Sea, and Shutter Island.
Survivors include his wife of more than 30 years, the actress Christine Baranski (The Good Wife).
