On Wednesday night’s Jeopardy!, host Alex Trebek made fun of a contestant’s favorite music genre and Twitter anger ensued, Variety reported.
“Your favorite type of music is something I’ve never heard of, but it doesn’t sound like fun,” Trebek said to contestant Susan Cole, a librarian.
Cole described her favorite genre of music, Nerdcore, with her explanation generating an extremely unenthusiastic response from Trebek. “[Nerdcore is] rapping about the things they love,” Cole said. “Video games, science-fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners. It’s really catchy and fun.”
Trebek sighed and then replied, “Losers, in other words”. He followed this remark by saying he was only “teasing.”
One fan tweeted a clip of the exchange between Trebek and Cole:
Yoooooooo, Alex Trebek is the coldest dude in the game, lololololol. I'm dying laughing. @DragonflyJonez @LaJethroJenkins pic.twitter.com/IwI85r83zY

Despite this, the remarks didn’t phase Cole, as she claimed victory, pocketing $22,600. She will return for Thursday night’s show.
Jeopardy! fans were disappointed and took to Twitter to express their anger:
Imagine finally passing the Jeopardy test and becoming a contestant and showing up and then Trebek’s all like “LOOK AT THIS LOSER."

Alex Trebek of #Jeopardy calling nerds "losers" is the STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard. Those "losers" GIVE YOU A JOB

Alex Trebek is 76 years old. He's never been, what you call, "cool".
Think of how many people have heard about Nerdcore now. THAT's cool.
