Disney+ has added Alden Ehrenreich, star of Solo: A Star Wars Story and Peacock’s Brave New World, to the upcoming Marvel Series, Ironheart, according to Deadline. Marvel and Disney+ have yet to confirm Ehrenreich’s role in the series.
Ehrenreich joins actors previously announced to board the project, Manny Montana (Good Girls), Emmy-nominated Anthony Ramos (Hamilton, In Treatment), and SAG Award-winner Lyric Ross (This Is Us). Dominique Thorne (Judas and the Black Messiah, If Beale Street Could Talk) will lead the series, playing genius inventor Riri Williams. Disney+ has also tapped a head writer for the series in Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer, Amazing Stories).
Hodge will also produce Ironheart alongside Victoria Alonso (WandaVision), Academy Award-nominee Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), Zinzi Coogler (Judas and the Black Messiah), Louis D’Esposito (Moon Knight), Zoie Nagelhou (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Sev Ohanian (Searching), Brad Winderbaum (Hawkeye), and Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, per Deadline. Sam Bailey, Emmy-nominated creator of web-series Brown Girls, will direct the series alongside Angela Barnes (Blindspotting, Teenage Bounty Hunters).
Ehrenreich’s upcoming projects include Elizabeth Banks’s Cocaine Bear, set to release on February 24th, 2023, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, and Chloe Domont’s Fair Play starring Phoebe Dnyevor.
Marvel and Disney+ have yet to confirm a release date for Ironheart.
