Adult Swim announces that season six of their hugely popular animated comedy series Rick And Morty will premiere on September 4th, according to TVLine. These will be the show’s first episodes in almost a full calendar year as season five ended on September 5th, 2021.
The logline for the show’s sixth season reads, per TVLine: “It’s season six and Rick and Morty are back! Pick up where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or will they get swept up in an ocean of piss! Who knows?! Piss! Family! Intrigue! A bunch of dinosaurs! More piss! Another can’t miss season of your favorite show.”
Michael Ouweleen, President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, released a statement on Rick And Morty’s upcoming sixth season.
“It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty. More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon,” Ouweleen said, per TVLine. “As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun — so keep your eyes peeled.”
The show has been one of the most popular and well-received animated comedy series of the last decade as it was the top comedy across all US cable in 2017, 2019, and 2021, per Deadline. The series has also received an upcoming spinoff anime series titled Rick And Morty: The Anime, which was announced in May and is coming to Adult Swim.
