Adam Goldberg Joins Cast Of ‘The Equalizer’ Reboot Series

Adam Goldberg (Saving Private Ryan) has been selected as a lead in the upcoming CBS The Equalizer reboot series, opposite Queen Latifah (Girls Trip), according to Deadline. The series will serve as a reimagined version of the 1985 drama series under the same name.

Queen Latifah is slated to play the role of Robyn McCall, a woman who uses her mysterious background to her advantage as an ex-CIA agent and single mom, while Goldberg will play Harry Keshegian, a paranoid conspiracy theorist hacker. Alongside the leads, the series will also star Chris Noth (The Good Wife), Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black), Liza Lapira (NCIS), and Laya DeLeon Hayes (Santa Hunters, Doc McStuffins).

The original series starred Edward Woodward (The Wicker Man) as Robert McCall, a retired secret agent who begins to use his abilities for the less fortunate. It aired for four seasons on CBS and earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series in 1987 for Woodward.

The Equalizer will begin filming in Jersey City, New Jersey.
