It looks like ABC and other networks are following suit with Ariana Grande by standing against terrorism. Variety confirms the alphabet network, among others will broadcast the pop-singer’s Manchester, England benefit concert live this Sunday.
Just days since a suicide bomber claimed the lives of 22 individuals and injured 116 at Grande’s concert in the Manchester Arena, the “Side to Side” singer announced she would be holding One Love Manchester a benefit concert to support the victims and their families.
BBC Worldwide is coordinating the event and has made agreements with 38 countries so far to broadcast the concert live. ABC will air the concert after the NBA finals, while Freeform (sister network to ABC) will broadcast the event live during its 7pm UK time/2pm ET time on Sunday. Viewers in Asia, South America, Australia and parts of Europe can tune in to see the live show as well.
Since the announcement went viral the benefit concert gained recognition by other musical artists who are now confirmed to appear, including, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Black Eyed Peas, and Coldplay among others.
Grande released a promotional ad for the concert on Tuesday, followed by a similar ad on Thursday noting tickets were on sale. Tickets were reportedly sold out in a record six minutes.
Singer Katy Perry paid tribute to the victims of the Manchester attack on Saturday during her live performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, then sharing a tweet: “The music community stands together with love and in solidarity. I am humbled to be a part of this show,” Telegraph shared.
