ABC Family Cancels ‘Mystery Girls’

ABC Family has canceled the half-hour comedy Mystery Girls.

Mystery Girls featured 90210 veterans Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth as former TV detective show stars working together to solve actual mysteries. The show’s cancellation follows an executive shake-up at ABC Family. Kate Juergens, the network’s executive vice president of original programming and development, has exited the network after ten years. Two other freshman shows, Young & Hungry and Chasing Life, are waiting a renewal decision.

ABC Family is known for its family (with the occasional teen drama) programming. The current lineup of shows includes the single father comedy Baby Daddy, The Fosters, Melissa and Joey, and the summer super show, Pretty Little Liars. Where the network will turn to in the future is, indeed, still a mystery, but for now, viewers know can rely on shows like Switched at Birth and Pretty Little Liars to stick around.
