With series like Fox’s Making History, NBC’s Timeless, and Comedy Central’s mini-series Time Traveling Bong ABC is now deciding to throw its hat in the time ring.
Deadline reports that ABC is developing hour-long drama series Echo Point, a time loop mystery said to be in the vein of Edge of Tomorrow, Source Code, and Looper. If ABC picks up the series it will likely be considered for the summer 2018 broadcast season.
Echo Point, written by The Good Neighbor co-writer Jeff Richard, is being heavily kept under wraps plot-wise. Richard and Mark Bianculli’s The Good Neighbor premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival, and the two also have the films Salem Village and White Smoke set up in varying stages of production.
Richard’s time loop mystery series comes from Safehouse Pictures and is executive produced by Safehouse’s Tory Tunnell, Joby Harold, and Matt Schwartz. Safehouse has just recently broken into TV with WGN America’s Underground. In film Safehouse has Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur film coming in May, and Robin Hood, which is further down the line,
