

After the announcement of his casting in the dystopian series Fallout, Aaron Paul and Prime Video seem to be setting up another collaboration. Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Need For Speed) posted a story on Instagram showing an Invincible script in front of him. Paul previously voiced Powerplex on the series, and the post indicates a likely return to the role.

Powerplex falls firmly into the tragic villain trope. A character who seeks revenge against Invincible for the crimes committed by Mark Grayson’s extra-dimensional doubles during the Invincible War. His character spawned the popular tie audio “He can’t keep getting away with this”, referring to his aforementioned nemesis. Spoiler warning for the following. In a fight with Invincible, Powerplex accidentally kills his wife and child, losing his electrical energy powers.
Invincible employs a stable cast of Villains with complex motivations, often switching allegiances. This past season introduced one of the series’s major antagonists, Thrag. Paul’s return would occur likely occur next season.
Season four of the series has received positive reviews. Earning a score of 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The series as a whole is widely praised by critics. Kaiya Shunyarta of RogerEbert. Com, said this about the fourth season, “ Despite some minor pitfalls in its pacing, the latest season of ‘Invincible’ reaches an undeniable series high.”
Paul is an undeniable star of the small screen, a multi-time Emmy winner for his role as Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad. His return marks yet another major star Invincible can count among its ranks. Its voice cast is loaded with the likes of Steven Yeun (Beef, I Origins) Oscar-winning J.K.
