The official trailer for the upcoming second season of Netflix’s Wednesday has been released, hinting that a major character’s life is in danger. According to Deadline, the trailer begins with Wednesday, portrayed by Jenna Ortega (Death of a Unicorn, Scream), returning to Nevermore Academy, where she is celebrated as a savior by both the staff and students. She won’t be alone; her brother Pugsley, played by Isaac Ordonez (A Wrinkle in Time, 7th & Union), will also be joining as a new student at the Academy.
Ortega’s Wednesday will be back as a roommate to Enid, played by Emma Myers ( A Minecraft Movie, Family Switch), while Pugsley will be bunking with Eugene, played by Moosa Mostafa (Nativity Rocks!, The Last Bus). According to Deadline, we get to meet the new principal of the academy, Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi (Grown Ups, Fargo), who seems to have bubbly personality. We will surely get more interaction between Wednesday and some familiar students at Nevermore, such as Bianca, played by Joy Sunday (Dog, Shithouse).
According to Deadline, season two’s plot will follow Wednesday trying to stop her premonition of Enid’s future death from becoming reality by enlisting the help of her family, mainly her mother Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones (Ocean’s Eleven, The Terminal) and Grandmama, played by Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once, Amandaland). Of course, her journey will lead to meeting old adversaries such as the Hyde, aka Tyler, played by Hunter Doohan (Daredevil: Born Again, Soundwave).
According to mxdwn, there is still little information on who Lady Gaga (A Star is Born, Top Gun: Maverick) will be playing in the upcoming season.
According to mxdwn, the second season is divided into two parts: the first part was released on August 6, followed by the second part available on September 3. In the meantime, fans can stream the entire first season of Wednesday on Netflix.
