

According to Tudum, the streaming platform Netflix is releasing a new Medical Drama series, Pulse. Pulse is an upcoming medical drama series premiering on Netflix on April 3, 2025. Created by Zoe Robyn and executive produced by Carlton Cuse, the show marks Netflix’s entry into the procedural medical drama genre. It follows the lives of doctors, surgeons, and residents at Maguire Hospital, Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center, as they navigate intense medical cases and personal struggles.
At the center of the story is Dr. Danielle “Danny” Simms played by Willa Fitzgerald(Scream, Dare Me), a third-year Emergency Medicine resident who is unexpectedly promoted to Chief Resident. Balancing her new leadership role while dealing with a difficult breakup, Danny must prove herself in one of the most high-pressure medical environments. Alongside her are Dr. Xander Phillips, played by Colin Woodell(The Purge,I Love America)the hospital’s Chief Resident, and Natalie Cruz played by Justina Machado(One Day at a Time, Queen Of the South) the Chair of Surgery and Emergency Medicine, both of whom add layers to the hospital’s leadership dynamics.
The series also introduces other key medical professionals, including surgical residents, medical students, and interns, all juggling the demands of their careers with personal challenges. Among them are Tom Cole played by Jack Bannon (The Loch, Kids in Love), Sam Elijah, played by Jessie T. Usher (Smile, Almost Christmas) Camila Perez played by Daniela Nieves(Every Witch Way,Five Points)(, Sophie Cha played by Chelsea Muirhead( Meet Me in New York, The Care Giver)and Harper Simms played by Jessy Yates(Me, Speechless) who is also Danny’s younger sister.
