With the major milestone of 700 episodes approaching, The Simpsons show runner Al Jean revealed the title being “Senior Moment”, according to Comicbook. Jean (The Critic) showed the cover page in a photo, revealing the table read for the episode has already taken place.
With COVID-19 slowing production for television, animation has been able to continue with their work. The Simpsons is no exception, and will seemingly return for its 32nd season next fall with 13 episodes. The show is legendary for being the longest animated running series in America, and the longest running prime time scripted series in history. The show has also won multiple Primetime Emmys, beginning in 1990 with Outstanding Animated Program for Al Jean, Sam Simon (Taxi), Matt Groening (Futurama), and 20th Century Fox Television among others.
30 seasons of The Simpsons are available for streaming on Disney+, with the 31st most likely arriving soon after its completion. After Disney attained 20th Century Fox, the show has become part of the Disney brand. When the show was originally added to the streaming platform, fans were upset due to the original ratio of the series not being used, resulting in visuals being cut off. However, the problem was resolved in late May, 6 months after the debut of the series on Disney+.
The 700th episode of The Simpsons should arrive sometime next year.
