23rd Season Of ‘Law & Order’ Set To Star Reid Scott

According to Deadline, Reid Scott has officially been deemed as a new character for the 23rd season of Law & Order. The actor comes with a past as an actor on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Veep. Scott will be playing an unnamed detective on the show, which comes from NBC.

Law & Order, according to IMDB, is about how “Lives hang in the balance as detectives and prosecutors pursue justice in New York City. In cases ripped from the headlines, police investigate serious and often deadly crimes, weighing the evidence and questioning the suspects until someone is taken into custody. The district attorney’s office then builds a case to convict the perpetrator by proving the person guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Working together, these expert teams navigate all sides of the complex criminal justice system to make New York a safer place — and keep the worst offenders off the streets.”

Scott starred in the fifth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel after being a recurring character throughout season four. He also makes an appearance in the anthology series American Horror Stories on FX. Along with this, he can be seen in HBO’s Veep, which had seven seasons. Other titles that are featured in Reid’s history of film and television are Who Invited Charlie?, Idea of You, and Wildflower, reports Deadline

Scott will be replacing a previous actor who was on the show named Jeffrey Donovan (Hitch) who played Detective Frank Cosgrove. Donovan had to leave the show due to having creative differences with the showrunners, says Deadline. Donovan portrayed this character in seasons 21 and 22 of the original Law & Order series.

This character change is the second one to happen since it was revived. Anthony Anderson, who played Detective Kevin Bernard in the original Law & Order, left after season 21 of the show and saw a successor in Mechad Brooks (The Game), who began his run in season 22 as Jalen Shaw, Frank’s new partner, claims Deadline

The cast of Law & Order also includes Sam Waterson (Grace and Frankie) as DA Jack McCoy, Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) as senior prosecutorial assistant Nathan Price, and Camryn Manheim (The Practice) as Lt. Kate Dixon, according to Deadline
