2023 Daytime Emmy Award Winners; ABC’s ‘General Hospital’ Takes Home Six Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ 50th Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony aired on December 15th on CBS. According to Deadline, the hosts for the ceremony were Kevin Frazier (Entertainment Tonight, Rat Race) and Nischelle Turner (Entertainment Tonight, American Horror Story). In addition to the winners for each category, Susan Lucci (All My Children, Ebbie) won a Lifetime Achievement Honor.

In addition to announcing the winners, the ceremony also contained a segment titled In Memoriam. This segment, along with a song performed by Jennifer Nettles (Stay, Stuck Like Glue), honored those who have passed, including Bob Barker (The Price Is Right, Truth or Consequences), Jacklyn Zeman (The Bay, General Hospital), and more.

General Hospital took home six Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Directing Team for a Daytime Drama Series.

In regards to performances in General Hospital, Robert Gossett (The Closer, Arlington Road) won the award for Outstanding Supporting Performance In a Daytime Drama Series: Actor for his role as Marshall Ashford, Eden McCoy (Tenured, Walk the Prank) won Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series for her role as Josslyn Jacks, and Alley Mills (A Golden Christmas, The Wonder Years) won Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series for her role as Heather Webber.

Sonya Eddy (Come Away Home, Legit), who passed away in December last year, was granted a Daytime Emmy Award for her role as Epiphany in General Hospital. She won the award for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress.

The Kelly Clarkson Show took home the award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, and Kelly Clarkson (American Song Contest, American Idol) won the award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.

For her role as Steffy Forrester in The Bold and the Beautiful on CBS, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Final Destination 5, South Beach) won the award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress. Thorsten Kaye (All My Children, Port Charles), for his role as Ridge Forrester, won Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor.

In addition, Entertainment Tonight won Outstanding Entertainment News Series and The Young and the Restless on CBS won the award for Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Drama Series.
