10th Anniversary Special For ‘Over The Garden Wall’ Announced With Studio Behind ‘Wallace and Gromit’

It has recently been announced that the stop-motion production studios behind Wallace and Gromit, Aardman Animations, will be working with Cartoon Network on a special for its limited series Over the Garden Wall this fall, according to ComicBook.

Over the Garden Wall has become a cult classic in recent years after its release in 2014 from Cartoon Network, originally premiering over the course of just one week. It has become a way for audiences to signal in the beginning of fall, and its popularity is only growing.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the show’s premiere, Over the Garden Wall is going to be making a comeback to our screens very shortly. In a recent announcement from Cartoon Network on X, the network announced that they have teamed up with Aardman Animations for a 10th-anniversary celebration special.

Over the Garden Wall is a limited series from Cartoon Network which premiered in November 2014. The falltime staple follows brothers Wirt and Greg as they journey through The Unknown, trying to get back to their home. Along the way, they meet the inhabitants of The Unknown and must try to evade a creature called The Beast. This loose adaptation of Dante‘s Inferno is the perfect quick watch for Halloween.

Over the Garden Wall’s creator Patrick McHale (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Adventure Time) took to social media to tease the special saying, “Just a fun little thing to show our appreciation to fans of the series. Aardman + Over the Garden Wall. Nov 3rd. More soon” according to ComicBook. Though not much is known about the special, many fans believe there will be a stop-motion animation element due to the films Aardman is known for and the visuals in the teaser.

There is still a way to watch for viewers wanting to get into the series before the special releases, even if it’s had a tumultuous past with streamers. It originally streamed on Max but was removed along with a slew of other animated series last year. However, it is now available to stream in its entirety on Hulu.
