According to Comicbook.com, the only thing that Showtime announced is that Dexter: Resurrection will be premiering in June 2025, with Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under, The Crown) returning as Dexter. Furthermore, a rumor posted on DanielRPK’s Patreon says that Dexter: Resurrection will be located in New York City, and both Harry and Harrison Morgan’s characters will be returning. There is no confirmation if James Remar (Sex And The City, Gotham) or Christian Slater (Mr. Robot, The Spiderwick Chronicles) will be portraying Harry since Slater is portraying Dexter’s adoptive father in Original Sin at the moment. Harry’s character is not present in New Blood since Dexter’s “ghost” is his own sister, Deb.
Furthermore, according to Comicbook.com, the rumor seemingly reports that Peter Dinklage (Game Of Thrones, Wicked) will be portraying one of the main villains in Dexter: Resurrection. Also, Uma Thurman (Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Pulp Fiction) is reportedly portraying the fixer for Dinklage’s character. At the moment, it’s unclear if famous Dexter characters like Angel and Quinn would return in Resurrection. Still, New Blood teases a slight confrontation between Angel and Dexter before the killer escapes. However, he seems to be reported to be present in a scene at the hospital in Resurrection, meaning that a long-awaited confrontation might happen.
According to Comicbook.com, it’s unclear if Dexter will still be able to operate his double life in New York City after his identity as the infamous city killer has been outed, with the police naming him “The Bat Harbor Butcher.” However, Dexter in New York City will definitely bring a taste of thrill to the new prequel series. The show is scheduled to begin filming at the beginning of January, so it’s likely that more information will be revealed soon.
Dexter, Dexter: New Blood and the first few episodes of Dexter: Original Sin are now available to stream on Paramount+ with a premium subscription tied to Showtime.
