According to Deadline, the final episodes of Disney+’s Agatha All Along increased the show’s audience. As stated by Disney, episode eight gained 4.6 million views, and episode nine brought in 3.9 million views. Compared to the premiere, the eight episode had a 48% increase, and the ninth episode had a 26% increase. Similarly to Netflix, Disney calculates its views through total stream time divided by the show’s runtime.
Deadline believes the finale’s decrease was due to two episodes being dropped individually on Disney+. Episode seven had 4.2 million views the same day it was released. Therefore, episode nine can increase the number of views, as fans are still interested in the show.
For the first episode’s premiere , no data was released from Disney. However, the company shared that 9.3 million views were obtained in a week.
The series skyrocketed on the Nielsen streaming charts during the first two weeks since it premiered. However, the TV show fell off the list when episode four was released on the platform. Nielsen states that viewership decreased within the second week, starting at 400 million views from the prior week and ending at 365 millions views.
As stated by Deadline, two episodes debuted for the premiere week, and fans had more runtime to stream. After those two episodes, only one short episode would air weekly — these reports from Deadline cause a major disadvantage for Agatha All Along being on the Nielsen charts.
Disney+ does not disclose the viewership of all shows on the platform, making it difficult to compare the performance of the dark fantasy show to other Disney shows. So far, the only shows that have viewership stats are Ashoka and The Acolyte for five-day tallies and Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a six day report — Loki Season 2 drove in an audience of 10.9 million views with the first three days on its streamer, The Walt Disney Company stated last October. However, Loki has remained a staple in the Marvel section on the platform to this day. Wandavision viewership had not been released by the company, but that series did show up on the Nielsen charts.
