Netflix has announced that Dracula and his chaotic family of monsters are returning in a new spinoff animated series, Comicbook.com reports. Hotel Transylvania has had four successful films in a decade, from 2012 through 2022. Now, the franchise is ready to move on to the small screen. The announcement was released on Thursday after the streamer unveiled its list of upcoming movies and animated shows that have been greenlit, which included Hotel Transylvania.
According to Comicbook.com, Netflix has also released an exclusive first-look poster for the series, accompanied by a post by Sony Pictures Animation, the company they will collaborate with for its production. Check out the post below.

“Motel Transylvania is open for business, as Drac and Mavis take a break from their Transylvanian haunts to set up a brand new resort for humans and monsters in the California desert. Vampires and sunshine… what can go wrong!? Motel Transylvania will be coming to Netflix next year!”
The announcement from Netflix, according to Comicbook.com, hasn’t featured any information on who will be in the cast yet. So, fans of the franchise are wondering who will be returning. Adam Sandler (Grown Ups, Just Go With It, 50 First Dates), who voiced Dracula, was present in the first three installments. He did not return in the fourth movie, as the character was voiced by Brian Hull instead. The character of Mabel was voiced by Selena Gomez (Only Murders In The Building, Wizards Of Waverly Place, Sonny With A Chance) in all four installments.
According to Comicbook.com, it could be very surprising that Sandler would be able to return for this series. However, Sandler has had a very close relationship with the streamer throughout the years since Netflix has been distributing most of his work on their streaming platform. Furthermore, it’s uncertain if the voice of Andy Samberg (Palm Springs, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Self Reliance), as the character of Johnny, Mavis’ wife, will return since he was present in all four franchise installments.
Motel Transylvania is expected to be released on Netflix in 2025.
