Jon Stewart (The Daily Show) making a quick change in schedule for the week. But do not fret, he will still be hosting The Daily Show this week! It will just be with a minor adjustment. According to Deadline, the comedian will be switching from his usual Monday slot on The Daily Show to Thursday this week.
Because of the changeup with Stewart taking the Thursday slot, the usual end-of-week host Jordan Klepper (The Daily Show) will be hosting tonight’s Monday slot. Deadline has reported that the change is due to Stewart being in LA this week for the massive Netflix comedy festival, Netflix Is A Joke Fest.
Stewart is currently performing alongside comedian John Mulaney (Saturday Night Live, Big Mouth) in his massive six-day-long comedy special titled Everybody’s In LA, a massive live event that will be featuring, well, everybody in the comedy scene inside and outside of LA. This special event was announced earlier in April, and launched on May 3rd, kicking off with performances from comedians such as Nick Kroll (Big Mouth, The Kroll Show), Jerry Seinfeld (Seinfeld), and Richard Kind (Big Mouth, Inside Out).
Everybody’s In LA is officially described as a “comically unconventional show,” and it is set to “feature special guests and field pieces shot in Los Angeles”. Stewart is set to participate in said special, explaining the schedule switch up for the week.
Deadline also reported that the lineup for this week’s Daily Show special guests includes Jonathan Haidt who is a social psychologist, Lexi Freiman, the author of the books Inappropriation, and The Book of Ayn, actor Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting, The Martian), and director of polling John Della Volpe.
Stewart will return back to his Monday slot next week and will continue his hosting duties on The Daily Show through the 2024 presidential election.
