According to Deadline, Netflix has dropped the final show for the upcoming series 3 Body Problem. The mystery drama series takes the name of the novel it is inspired by, and will finally premiere on March 21st 2024. This will mark its release four years after its announcement of becoming a series.
Deadline went into the log line for the show, saying “A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unorthodox detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.”
Deadline also listed some of the starting actors, including Jovan Adepo (Overlord), John Bradley (Moonfall), Rosalind Chao (Star Trek), Liam Cunningham (The Vault), Eiza González (Baby Driver), Jess Hong (Inked), Marlo Kelly (Dare Me), Alex Sharp (The Hustle), Sea Shimooka (Pink Skies Ahead), Zine Tseng (On A Whim), Saamer Usmani (Inventing Anna), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes).
Deadline claimed that the series is being created by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) and Alexander Woo (True Blood). Bernadette Caulfield (The X-Files), Rian Johnson (Knives Out), Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue are Executive Producers for T-Street. Lin Qi, the late former Chairman of Yoozoo Group, and Zhao Jilong, CEO of the rights-holder for The Three-Body Universe are also Executive Producers. Others include Xiaosong Gao, Lauren Ma, Plan B Entertainment’s Brad Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner. Finally, Rosamund Pike and Robie Uniacke executive produce for Primitive Streak. Derek Tsang and Andrew Stanton are set to direct and co-executive produce. Other directors include Jeremy Podeswa and Minkie Spiro.
The series will not be available on Netflix until March 21st, but will premiere tonight at the SXSW Film & Television festival in Austin, said Deadline. Watch the trailer below.
