According to Comicbook, CBS has recently revealed their television schedule after the strikes have now been resolved. The network has set up its lineup to conclude what is left of 2023 and enter the 2024 television season. This will include many series that the network originally had planned to air in the fall of 2023. The new schedule will start in February 2024. CBS will also be moving two new shows to the 2024-2025 season. These shows include a reboot of Matlock which stars Kathy Bates (American Horror Story), and Wayanses’ sitcom Poppa’s House.
According to Deadline, the mid-season schedule will be prompted during the Super Bowl and the NFL Playoff games in January. The new schedule resembles the original fall lineup that the network had planned in May before the strike started. One of the differences in the lineup is that Tracker will be replacing Matlock. Matlock and Poppa’s House being pushed into the 24-25 season created a limited space in the mid-season due to the strike, which caused many production delays as well as longer prep time. This made many series that were ordered in May for fall to be pushed to the next season.
