Rejoice, fans of And Just Like That…! The Sex and the City reboot on HBO’s streaming platform Max has officially been renewed for season three, according to Deadline. The finale of season two will be released on Max on August 24.
Sarah Aubrey, the Head of Content over at Max stated, “We are delighted to share that since the launch of Season 2, And Just Like That… ranks as the No. 1 Max Original overall and is the most-watched returning Max Original to date.” Which is exciting for those working on the show and fans alike.
Aubrey continued with, “As we approach the highly anticipated season finale on Thursday, we raise our cosmos to Michael Patrick King and his magnificent team of writers, producers, cast and crew who continue to charm us, 25 years later, with dynamic friendships and engaging stories. We cannot wait for audiences to see where Season 3 will take out favorite New Yorkers.”
After Carrie, portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker (Failure to Launch, Hocus Pocus), lost her husband Mr. Big, previously played by Chris Noth (The Good Life, Law & Order), she went head over heels into her longtime backup boyfriend Aiden Shaw (John Corbett, Ramona and Beezus, My Big Fat Greek Wedding). Time had passed and their lives have evolved and grown immensely but the rekindling of their romance was passionate and quick. Deadline questions, “is there a world where Carrie and Aiden can make a real go at it? It’s complicated but hasn’t it always been?”
Miranda and Charlotte are both on the road to self-discovery. Miranda isn’t sure where she falls in terms of labels, if anywhere, after her relationship with Che came to an end and Charlotte is trying to navigate being a good mother and wife.
Aubrey also stated via Deadline that she is “thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors. And Just Like That… here comes Season 3.”
