The Desperate Housewives star is returning to television.
A year and a half after the Desperate Housewives series ended, Marcia Cross is joining the Fox comedy from Nahnatchka Khan (Apartment 23).
Fatrick is a comedy that centers Patrick, a 30-something man who realizes that his life isn’t as it should be. The comedy will take place in the present, but also in the character’s past, when he was a chubby kid called “Fatrick” who was just trying to survive at school and at home.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cross will play the role of Arlene, Patrick’s mother and will appear in both the past and present parts. Arlene is a fit, energetic woman, proud of her skinny daughter, but not that keen of her chubby boy.
Fatrick will be directed by Oscar winner Nat Faxon (The Descendants) and Jim Rash (The Way Way Back). Kevin Walsh and Jeff Morton will be the executive producers alongside Khan, Nickerson, Faxon and Rash.
This is the first role Marcia Cross has booked since the end of Desperate Housewives. The actress won an Emmy and three Golden Globe nominations for the drama on Wisteria Lane.
