AMC announced in an Instagram post yesterday, June 25, that there would be a first look at the upcoming The Walking Dead spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, during the episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City airing that night. The first look can be seen below.
The teaser shows Norman Reedus’s (The Walking Dead, Charmed) Daryl Dixon as he treks across a post-apocalyptic France by himself.
TWD: Daryl Dixon was announced in September of 2020 by Angela Kang (The Walking Dead, Terriers) and Scott M. Gimple (Tales of the Walking Dead, Fillmore!). The series began filming on October 24, 2022. It is created by David Zabel (Lucky 7, Mercy Street).
The teaser trailer states that the series will premiere this fall and IMDB lists the series premiere as October 1, 2023.
Along with Reedus, the series stars Gilbert Glenn Brown (The Young and the Restless, Stargirl), Avant Strangel (Missions, La Garçonne), Clémence Poésy (Tenet, Last Love), and Adam Nagaitis (The Gold, Red Rose).
The Walking Dead first aired on AMC on October 31, 2010 and finished its 11 season run on November 20, 2022. It has spawned a number of subsequent spinoffs including Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and The Walking Dead: Dead City.
The Walking Dead is based on the comic book series of the same name created by Robert Kirkman (Invincible, Outcast) and published by Image Comics from October 2003 through July 2019. Fear the Walking Dead premiered on August 23, 2015 and stars Alycia Debnam-Carey (The 100, Saint X), Lennie James (Line of Duty, Save Me), Kim Dickens (Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood), Colman Domingo (Candyman, Zola), and Frank Dillane (Astral, The Essex Serpent).
The Walking Dead: World Beyond debuted on October 4, 2020 and starred Aliyah Royale (War Paint, The Red Line), Alexa Monsour (Avalon, Fantasy Island), and Nicolas Canto (Skull Island, Dragons: Rescue Riders).
