Cowboy fans’ favorite rancher family will not be airing a new episode on Christmas Day. According to Deadline, Paramount has revealed that there will be no original episode of Yellowstone on December 25th. This has come as a shock to many fans that expected the eighth episode of the season to air on Christmas day following the weekly Sunday releases of the series. Instead, the episode will launch the following Sunday on New Year’s Day.
Yellowstone is a Western drama created by Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Wind River) and John Linson (Lords of Dogtown, Sons of Anarchy), and first aired in June 2018. The series focuses on the Duttons, a family of ranchers in the state of Montana. Kevin Costner (Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves) plays John Dutton who owns one of the largest ranches in the United States. Through the series, the Duttons face constant attacks from land developers to even Indian reservations. The series also stars Luke Grimes (All the Boys Love Mandy Lake), Kelly Reilly (Pride & Prejudice), Wes Bently (The Hunger Games), Cole Hauser (Dazed and Confused), Kelsey Asbille (Fargo), Gil Birmingham (Wind River), and many more.
According to Deadline, the eighth episode of season five is called ‘’A Knife And No Coin’’ and will focus on Jamie Dutton (Wes Bently) going through with his plan to remove his father from office and many other unexpected situations. The episode will even showcase a flashback revealing more information on the source of Rip’s loyalty. Deadline also states that if many cowboys feel like they’re missing out on their weekly favorite family to have no fear as Paramount will be airing a holiday marathon of the series on Christmas day starting at 10 a.m. ET/PT.
The eighth episode of Yellowstone season five will premiere on January 1, 2023.
