The CW’s popular mystery drama Riverdale has expanded its cast for the upcoming seventh season according to Deadline. Nicholas Barasch (A Night Off, Low Tide) and Karl Walcott (Monnfall, Drunken Birds) will be joining the series with major recurring roles in the upcoming season.
Riverdale is a mystery drama that follows the inhabitants of the town of Riverdale also known as Rivervale which is based on the Archie Comics series that started in 1942. The comic series was turned into a live adaptation for The CW and it is developed and executive produced by Robert Aguirre-Sacasa(Supergirl, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina). The live adaptation follows the mystery that starts in the town after a teenager was murdered which leads to a group of teenagers unraveling not only the mystery, but the evil in their town.
Deadline states that Barasch will be playing the entitled red-headed bully Julien Blossom. The character’s role is to make everyone’s life miserable and be the antagonist of all the main characters, especially Archie Andrews. Walcott’s character isn’t as preppy and rich as Barasch’s. Walcott will be playing Clay Walker, an Army brat with a strong sense of social justice. These characters will be seen in the upcoming season seven which starts right after the Bailey’s comet incident that caused a reset in the story and put all main characters back in high school but this time in 1955.
Fans can see Barasch and Walcott in season seven of the series along with many returning show stars. Stars Such as Lili Reinhart (Look Both Ways), Cole Sprouse (The Suite Life on Deck), K.J Apa (I Still Believe), Camila Mendez (Do Revenge), Madelaine Petsch (Jane), Casey Cott (Asking for It), and many more.
Season seven of Riverdale will air on The CW in 2023. Fans that want to catch up on the series, all current six seasons are streamable on Netflix.
