Two years after the premiere of the last episode of its second season, HBO’s Succession has announced that its third season will premiere on October 17, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A minute-long teaser for the series was released in July, with an October release for the third season being announced in August.
The dramedy centers around the dysfunctional owners of an entertainment conglomerate – Waystar RoyCo. The Roy family fights for control of the company after concerns arise regarding the health of the family’s patriarch, Logan Roy, played by Brian Cox (Manhunter). The third season picks up after the events of the second season finale, when Logan scrambles to solidify the family’s alliances. This familial civil war is presented in a poster for the upcoming season, in which a literal line falls down the center of the hallway between the two sides.
The series also stars Peter Friedman (The Seventh Sign), J. Smith-Cameron (Nancy), Dagmara Dominczyk (The Count of Monte Cristo), Justine Lupe (Mr. Mercedes), David Rasche (Sledge Hammer!), Fisher Stevens (Short Circuit), Hiam Abbass (Lemon Tree), Annabelle Dexter-Jones (Ravage), and Jeannie Berlin (The Heartbreak Kid). Alexander Skarsgard (The Legend of Tarzan), Sanaa Lathan (Love & Basketball), Jihae (Mortal Engines), and Hope Davis (Your Honor) will serve as additions to the cast.
The third season of Succession will premiere on HBO on October 17.
