The final chapter of Black Lightning has its first episode description. According to ComicBook.com, The CW released the synopsis for the season four premiere. Entitled “The Book of Reconstruction: Chapter One,” the episode airing Monday, February 8 is the beginning of the end of the DC superhero series. “When we first started the Black Lighting journey, I knew that Jefferson Pierce and his family of powerful Black Women would be a unique addition to the superhero genre,” series creator Salim Akil (Love Is, Sparkle) said via ComicBook.com. “The love that Blerds and all comic book fans around the globe have shown this series over the past three seasons proved what we imagined, Black People Want To See Themselves in all their complexities,” Akil added via ComicBook.com
According to ComicBook.com, the series resumes with Jefferson Pierce, played by Cress Williams (Hart of Dixie, Prison Break), and family reconciling with the many ramifications of their battle with various adversaries. Their unusual alliance with the ASA brought down Wayne Brady’s (Whose Line Is It Anyway, Let’s Make A Deal) villainous Gravedigger. At the same time, they had to battle for Freeland’s freedom from the uprising of the Markovians. And Jefferson himself lost a dear friend in Detective Henderson, played by Damon Gupton (Criminal Minds, Bates Motel). You can read the full synopsis below:
