Even though it’s still early in the season, Showtime has already given the okay for a new season of both shows.
Four weeks into their currents runs, both Homeland and Masters of Sex are already set to return next season.
David Nevins, Showtime Entertainment’s president, said earlier today, “Homeland continues to prove its strength for Showtime, and is one of television’s most exciting, provocative and widely discussed shows. [As for Masters of Sex,] the critical and audience reaction to [the show] since its great launch has been incredibly gratifying.”
It’s not a big surprise for Homeland fans, because not only was the show already very successful, it even managed to increase in 26% of total viewers in this third season. Masters of Sex, on the other hand, is still a new show, but the numbers speak for themselves – it has been averaging 5.4 million weekly viewers, and the channel decided to bet on it right away.
Both shows received a 12-episode order for 2014/2015.
