Deadline has exclusively announced Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been approached to return to host the Golden Globes for a second time.
After the success of this past Golden Globes awards show, hosts Fey and Poehler have been invited back for more (ratings were up 17% from the previous year). Their original contract stated they would host one show with no obligation of returning. According to Deadline, there have been no formal invitations between the network and Fey and Poehler.
Both ladies have been busy lately with both television and film projects. Fey has recently sold two comedies and Poehler works as producer of her hit series Parks and Recreation. They have both been involved in movies.
However, their demanding schedules just may have time for the Golden Globes, as the show contains minimal prep work for hosts. Deadline noted the work in advance consists of merely a few weeks, unlike more involved awards shows, namely the Oscars.
Deadline expects NBC and Dick Clark Productions (producer of Golden Globes) will engage in more formal conversations with the stars about their possible return.
