HBO has ordered a pilot from Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Vicky Jones’ romantic comedic thriller Run. The series is about a pact that two ex-lovers made fifteen years ago. The pact was if either ever needed to escape their life, they can send the other a text message”RUN.” They would then immediately disappear together. Waller-Bridge will recur as Flick in the series.
Jones (DryWrite co-founder and co-artistic direct) will write and executive produce the series will Waller Bridge. Emily Leo (Wigwam Films) will join as an executive produce. HBO and independent production company Entertainment One will co-produce the series. This will be the first time in which DryWrite has produced a television series. Previously produced multiple theatrical productions. This is also the second project at HBO for Entertainment One.
Both got their worldwide fame for BBC’s dark comic Fleabag. This series was based on Waller-Bridge’s play, and Jones directed it. Waller-Bridge also starred in the series. Jones has also directed Mydidae, as well as wrote Touch and The One. Waller-Bridge has played in Broadchurch, The Cafe, and The Iron Lady. She will play in upcoming Star Wars series Solo: A Star Wars Story. She also created, wrote, and showruns BBC America’s Killing Eve, which Jones worked on as well.
